SAHETI School  Staff Bursaries

SAHETI School  Staff Bursaries

The education crisis in South Africa has been a major discussion point for a number of years. It is evident that there is growing need for well trained and highly qualified educators in all schools in South Africa.

Since its inception, SAHETI School has been dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in education, which remains a priority for the future. The establishment of a bursary fund for prospective Education students is aimed at making a difference in a significant way, as the increasing shortage of quality candidates entering the teaching profession remains a national dilemma. This applies especially to areas such as Science, Mathematics and languages (isiZulu in particular), although other areas will not be overlooked. The focus is on High School educators.

The SAHETI Educator Bursary Fund was established in 2009 and to date the School has successfully awarded seven educator bursaries. One or two bursaries are awarded every year, and partially sponsor studies towards a four years teaching qualification. We are seeing the fruits of this venture as our first teacher will be graduating in 2012 and will commence teaching at the School in 2013.
