Admission Requirements for TUT are that simple. There are minimum requirements that you are to have. Please note that having the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission.

You cannot gain admission into a course of study at TUT unless you have the following

General admission requirements for TUT



  • You must have AT LEAST A PASS in ENGLISH LANGUAGE at the Senior Certificate Examinations, there are some programs that may require that you have a first language or what is referred to as home language)
  • Do remember that the individual courses also do have their prerequisites
  • Aspirants into TUT should beware that the prerequisites for specific courses may differ and may change per with time
  • Some courses may request you to take a test
  • Some will require you to enroll in a relevant foundational program
  • The table below shows the various performance that you need for admission. These are program-specific.

  • The standpoint of TUT is that the subject of Maths is very crucial to course that warrant a certain level of arithmetic strength; The rest may just need what is known as Mathematical Literacy. (Find a comprehensive dose of information on what each course requests on the DoE website).
  • Please take note of this point very well. Some overlook thinking once they have passed all the other subjects very well, they can apply for any course at all.
  • With TUT this is not the case
