STUDENT SUPPORT

The Student Support Service sees itself as facilitating an educational situation that will enable the students of the college to function at optimum levels so that they can receive the maximum benefit from the education situation.  The assistance is therefore focused on meeting the needs of the student both as an individual and as part of the student community and member of the community.

  • Career Guidance (Make use of PACE CD).

  • A structured reading/language programmes to assist learners with reading/language problems. (Reading Excellence)
  • A Mathematical Programme to assist underperforming learners
  • A tutor system
  • Individual/Group assistance on request
  • Orientation programme for first registration

Financial Support:

  • College Bursary Scheme
    • 93 Learners received college bursaries to the amount of  R115825 in 2007
  • DoE Bursary Scheme
    • 119 received DoE bursaries to the amount of R596 078.

    • 11 Learners received bursaries from other institutions:   R27 400
