UFS Bachelor of Social Sciences (BSocSci) Course

UFS Bachelor of Social Sciences (BSocSci) Course

About

The social sciences are academic fields that study society from a scientific point of view. What can you do with a social science degree? You can have something specific in mind, like becoming a psychologist or political scientist. But if you enjoy working with people, without a clear idea of what you want to do, the BSocSci programme is a great option to consider. You could use the gained skills, no matter what you end up doing. For example, you learn to collect information; ask a good question about a body of information; develop an interpretation; and communicate an argument verbally or in writing.

The Faculty of the Humanities include many academic departments and modules that include disciplines like Languages, Arts, Human Sciences, Social Sciences, and Cultural Sciences. Due to this variety, you can compile a degree programme that suits your career choice, interest, and skill. Some programmes were developed to train you for a specific career, while others equip you with the skills needed in various positions. Today’s ever-changing career world requires various skills that this faculty can equip you with, including: language proficiency, communication skills, creativity, interpersonal skills, problem-solving skills, computer literacy and critical thinking.
