Civil engineers design, build, maintain, manage and oversee the operation of the infrastructure that keeps society functioning. The Civil engineer’s sphere of interest includes motorways and railways, buildings and structures, foundations, water and wastewater treatment plants, airports, harbour transport facilities, road systems, power generation facilities and tunnels.
With a Certificate in Civil Engineering at Motheo FET College you will have engaged with a variety of core and optional modules including Civil Engineering Design Projects, Engineering Mathematics and Mechanics, an Introduction to Structural Analysis and Design,Ground Engineering, Structural Analysis and Design and Design and Construction Projects Motheo FET College, situated in Mangaung (Bloemfontein), offers career education to students in three main areas: – those who because of their aptitude and interest, choose career education after Grade 9; – students who wish to study in a career direction after Grade 12 in either Engineering, Management, Business, or General Studies (Art and Design, Hair Dressing and Beauty Technology, Hospitality and Tourism); and – adult employees who wish to follow in-service training courses which are geared towards specific aspects of their jobs.
