Lovedale College Agriculture Info,The course is design to teach the student the broad principles regarding farming activities such as animal-and soil production, as well as how to run the farm as a business.

Admission Requirements

  • A year end school report for grade 10 or higher with Agricultural Science ORPhysical Science ORLife Science
  • An NQF Level 1 qualification; or
  • An approved bridging programme designed for the specific purpose to access NQF level 2; or
  • A Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) assessment to meet the basic requirements for access to NQF Level 2.

Grade 11 and 12 learners who are at least 17 years of age are given first preference.

Duration

  • This qualification takes three years to complete.
  • Each of the levels 2, 3 and 4 will take one-year full time.
  • Every level of study carries 130 credits.

NATIONAL CERTIFICATE VOCATIONAL (PRIMARY AGRICULTURE)

INTRODUCTION

Primary Agriculture is a qualification that is offered over a 3-year period on levels 2,3 and 4 of the NQF. This qualification is designed to provide both the theory and practice of primary agriculture. The practical component of study may be offered in a real workplace environment or in a simulated workplace environment. It will provide students with an opportunity to experience work situations during the period of study.
