Services SETA
CBM Training has full accreditation with Services SETA (Accreditation number 0057).
The Services Sector Education and Training Authority (SSETA) was established and registered in March 2000 in terms of the skills development Act of 1998.
This means that Skills Development Levy paying organisations, that have submitted their Workplace Skills Plan and Annual Training Report, can claim Mandatory and Discretionary Grants from their relevant SETA.
Department of Labour
We are registered as an FET College with the Department of Higher Education (FET Registration number 2009/FE07/111).
Terms and Conditions
- You may send a substitute delegate in your place. (please inform us of the new name for the certificate)
- You may transfer once at no charge to another course, provided you do so in writing at least 5 working days before the course. Transfers inside of 5 days will be charged a late transfer fee of 20%
- You may cancel your registration, in writing, up to 10 working days before the course takes place, however, a 10% cancellation fee will be levied.Cancellations inside of 10 days will be liable for the full fee.
- CBM Training reserves the right to change the date or cancel a course without liability.
- Unfortunately, no refund or credit can be given to delegates who do not attend without giving prior notice.
- Halaal and Kosher meals will be charged an additional fee of R250 (excl vat) per training day
- Please note, payment, or proof thereof must be received by no later than 09h00 on the first day of the course. Delegates will not be permitted entry unless payment has been made.
- For all international bookings, CBM Training requires payment in full 1 calendar week before the course commences.
- As a past delegate, you will receive notifications via email of upcoming courses that may be of interest to you. You can opt out of these email notifications at any time quickly and permanently.
- For all onsite training bookings, 6 weeks notice is required if dates are to be changed or the event is to be cancelled. Any booking amendments in under 6 weeks will incur a cost.
Previously Disadvantaged Individual Scholarships
CBM Training, a South African leader in the supply of short duration training courses, awards two scholarships annually which are aimed at developing Previously Disadvantaged Individuals (PDI). Each PDI Scholarship consists of a suite of corporate development training courses that equip the successful candidates with real business skills, making them more effective and promotable within their organisations. We offer a Management and a Secretarial scholarship, which are each valued at more than R 24, 000 Excluding VAT.

Management Scholarship
CBM Training’s Management Scholarship consists of a suite of managerial development training courses and is offered to one Previously Disadvantaged Individual per year. The Managerial Scholarship consists of 5 short duration management training courses that will run during the course of 2018. They will empower the successful candidate with the necessary practical business and managerial skills to assist with their advancement in their profession. The courses in our Managerial Scholarship have been carefully selected to provide the maximum benefit to new or up and coming managers.
Application criteria for the Management Scholarship are as follows:
- That the applicant is from a previously disadvantaged group.
- That they have been in full-time employment with their current company for a minimum of one year.
- The applicant is currently in a management position or is being groomed for a management position.
The Suite of Managerial Development Courses are:
- Introduction to Finance for Non-Financial Managers
- Master the Art of Negotiation to Win and Close Deals
- Practical Self Confidence and Assertiveness Skills
- Highly Effective Team Leadership using Emotional Intelligence (EQ)
- Key Management Skills for Effective Managers
Secretarial Scholarship
The Secretarial Scholarship consists of a suite of secretarial development training courses and is offered to one Previously Disadvantaged Individual per year. The Secretarial Scholarship consists of 6 short duration training courses that will run during the course of 2018. They will empower the successful candidate with the necessary practical administrative and secretarial skills to assist with their advancement in their profession. The courses in our Secretarial Scholarship have been carefully selected to provide the maximum benefit to administrators and secretaries.
Application criteria for the Secretarial Scholarship are as follows:
- That the applicant is from a previously disadvantaged group.
- That they have been in full-time employment with their current company for a minimum of one year.
- Candidates must be currently working in a secretarial or administrative profession.
The Secretarial Scholarship will consist of 6 short duration training courses that will run during the course of 2018. They will empower the successful student with the necessary practical administrative and secretarial skills to assist with their advancement in their profession. The courses in our Secretarial Scholarship have been carefully selected to provide the maximum benefit to administrators and secretaries.

What do the PDI Scholarships include?
Both CBM Training scholarships include the course costs, lunches on the day (Please Note: an extra charge of R250 Excluding VAT per day will be made on all Kosher, Halaal, Vegetarian or Vegan meals), full course documentation and certificates of attendance. Candidates will be responsible for their own travel to the course venue and arranging their leave with their company.
Deadline to Apply and Announcement of the Scholarship Winner:
The closing date for applications is 29 September 2017. The top 5 candidates for each scholarship will be short-listed and contacted on 16 October 2017. Short-listed candidates will enter the final round where they will be required to complete a questionnaire and motivate why they should be awarded a PDI Scholarship. The winner of each Scholarship (Management and Secretarial) will be announced via email and on the CBM Training Facebook page on 31 October 2017.
