About CPUT

CPUT, a prestigious South African University set up on the 1st of Jan 2005, is a place to behold.

It was born when Cape Technikon merged with Peninsula Technikon.

It became necessary for the two to come together as South Africa was transforming its higher education for good.

It has grown to become the only tertiary abode of study for anyone aspiring to technology education in a world-class university. It is also the largest in the region with over 30,000 learners, a lot of campuses and over 70 specialties.

From a humble and an unassuming start in Cape Technikon and also at Peninsula Technikon way back in early 1900

The intake opened on May 20, 2019, for both undergraduate and postgraduate prospective students.

Application fee

A fee of R100 which is non-refundable is to be paid before your form can be taken for processing.

Upon payment, a copy showing you have paid must be attached to your form.

Please keep the original copy secured under lock and key

Also if you are late, i.e. applying after the deadline, you will pay a fee of R150

How to submit your documents for application

Please Note:

CPUT will verify your documents for authenticity.

Don’t submit originals, send copies that have been certified, these should be attached to your form.

You can certify your documents at a court or police station.

If you are a citizen of South Africa, you will need

A copy of the receipt showing you paid the fee for application
A verified copy of your Document of Identity, only the first page
Senior Certificate ( Verified Copy)
Recent Marks got in Grade 11 if you are not done with Grade 12
If you have any qualifications from any higher institution, please add the verified copies.
If you have any documents that may be needed for the specific program of study you are aspiring as you see in the form as demanded, add them

If you are not a South African citizen, you will need

A copy of the receipt showing you paid the fee for application
Verified passport copy or permanent residence permit
Verified copies of your certificate, if not in English, add a translation in English
If you are applying with a WAEC or NECO certificate, add a scratch card
For students from Angola, the Democratic Republic of Congo or Cameroon, add transcripts or any proof of your results and their translations as given by your embassy
If you have any documents that may be needed for the specific program of study you are aspiring as you see in the form as demanded, add them

Submitting Documents Online

Note:

If you are NOT YET I8 as of the time you are applying, you need to submit a Declaration from. Click here and get it downloaded
You will need to submit supporting documents get them here
You have to scan every document, and then upload them one by one as indicated in the code of each certificate
Scan every document separately and submit them as indicated
pdf, or jpeg types files that are accepted
Sice os the file should not be more than 2MB each.

If you are a citizen and currently upgrading your Grade 12 results or TVET

You will have to submit a proof of registration for your upgrade
