Programme overview

Media Studies equips students with the critical and analytical skills to be able to operate in the 21st Century media environment and the Information Age.

Students will be exposed to theories, debates and discussions about the role of the media in society as well as being exposed to ways of analysing the operations of the media, media products and media consumption by audiences.

A Media Studies major would be useful for people who would like to be in journalism, media products/market analysis, advertising, audience and media research, government communications, publishing media management, and policy and regulation analysis.
