University of Cape Town UCT Electrical Engineering
The department is at the cutting edge of local and international trends, working closely with industry producing graduates with an excellent foundation in the principles of electrical engineering.
During the four-year BSc in Electrical Engineering with a choice of specialisations in electronic engineering, power engineering and computer engineering, students develop their minds and nurture their abilities to conceptualise, analyse and solve problems.
Research projects cover a wide range of subjects, including neural networks, acoustics, design of computer communication protocols, the simulation of electricity markets, the use of computer control and instrumentation to optimise process performance, the design of wind generators and telecommunications.
