From a humble beginning in 2014 with 135 students, as the University of the Northern Cape, it sprouted in Kimberly, South Africa. The target currently is to hit 7,500 by the year 2024.

REQUIREMENTS FOR ADMISSION
Every university is unique and so is Sol Plaatjie University.
The requirements are based on the performance of the prospective student at the National Senior Certificate (NSC) examinations.
If you hold a different certificate, you will be considered based on the merit of it.
You are to submit certified copies of your certificates as an attachment to your form.

You have satisfied the minimum requirements does not mean you will gain automatic admission.
The decision to admit you will be your performance per the certificates submitted and the space available as of the time of your application.
You will, however, stand a better of being admitted if your qualifications are stronger than the minimum requirements
