Application Process

The Doctor of Pharmacy Programme seeks individuals wishing to practice at an advanced level and become leaders in the profession of pharmacy.

Applicants must be registered as pharmacists with the South African Pharmacy Council



Application procedures:

A portfolio is a collection of evidence that demonstrates your continuing acquisition of knowledge and skills and reflects your understanding and achievements at this point in your pharmacy career.

Your portfolio should be a representative picture of what is meaningful to you in your practice of pharmacy. It should represent your growth and understanding of health care in general and pharmacy specifically.

Your portfolio need not be extensive, but it should contain the following items:

Statement of your career objectives
Evidence of learning and professional activities which may include a variety of items such as:

Patient counseling
Continuing education courses
Medication teaching materials
Community education presentations

Application forms for the Doctor of Pharmacy are available in June of each application year. Application deadline is September 30th of each year. Short-listed applicants will be asked for an interview in Grahamstown in October.
