NMU Short Course in Wound Care
The Basic wound care short programme will be presented again soon in the Nursing Science Department at the NMMU.
It is a three day programme and will be of great benefit to your wound care staff even if they have attended previous training sessions.
The programme is targeted at nursing staff members as well as occupational health, hygiene and environmental health practitionersfrom both the public and private sectors who wishto learn how to assess and treat basic wounds effectively.
The programme takes the form of an interactive workshop which focusses on assessment and basic wound care. Actual dressings and dressing techniques will also be demonstrated. Infection control principles and documentation will also be included in the programme.
Participants are required to complete all three days and demonstrate clinical competence in order to obtain the NMMU endorsed certificate.
