NMU Short Course in Introduction to Electrocardiogram
The purpose of this two day short learning programme will be to enhance the knowledge of registered nurses caring for patient with cardiovascular alteration in performing a 12 lead electrocardiogram
The short learning programme includes the following:
- Anatomy and physiology of the cardiac system
- The conduction system
- The normal wave forms of a ECG
- Operational principles of the ECG machine
- Performing an ECG
- Measuring heart rate and intervals
- Identification of arrhythmias
- Derivation, causes, recognition, hemodynamic consequences and management of arrhythmias
Duration
Two day (08:00-16:00)
Cost
R1000 per person per day (Refreshments and material included), however discounts would be considered for groups.
Who should attend?
Health care professionals, including enrolled nurses who is involved in performing and analyzing electrocardiogram.
