Thekwini TVET College has six campuses namely ASHERVILLE CAMPUS, CATO MANOR CAMPUS, CENTEC CAMPUS, MELBOURNE CAMPUS, SPRINGFIELD CAMPUS and UMBILO CAMPUS.
Thekwini TVET College has a strong commitment to nation building and lead the province in terms of their outreach programs and partnerships. The College is one of the first Colleges to pilot Learnerships in KZN and Skills Unit involved in extensive training for SETAs and industry. Cato Manor Technical College, Durban Central Technical College and LC Johnson Technical College merged together to form Thekwini College, an accredited Public Further Education and Training Institution as per KZN GG No. 117 2002 published on 11 April 2002. As a public, multi-purpose, nationally recognized provider, the College is managed and administered in accordance with regulations stipulated by the FETC Act, 2006 and by national education policy as determined by the Minister of Education.
Their vision is to become a centre of excellence offering accredited, high quality cutting-edge technology training through multi-site campuses in collaboration with local, provincial, national and international partners. Service provision is being tailored to meet the demands of the labour market and in particular to access Learnerships and NQF accredited skills training. Strategic partnerships to access further education and training opportunities are being established with other TVET Providers, HE institutions, organized labour, the community, relevant government departments and non-governmental organizations, business and industry, SMME’s and SETAs.
