Buffalo City College Graduation Info

Buffalo city college graduation info,It is tradition that once a year the college holds a diploma ceremony to celebrate with students who have achieved their academic requirements. The purpose of this historical event is to honour and encourage students to go further with their studies.

Councils Members, Management, Lectures, Family and friends are gathered in one venue to witness and celebrate with these students.

The ceremony is divided into two sessions.  The first session was for students who have completed the 18 months theory and have already got their N6 Certificates.  The second session is a diploma ceremony for students who have completed their 18 months in-service training.

The Marketing Unit would like to thank the guest speakers for the day, Council Members, Lecturers, families of the students, friends as well as the organising committee.

OVERVIEW

Multi-campus college
Buffalo City Public TVET College (BCC), based in East London, is a multi-campus college that has three campuses namely: East London Campus, John Knox Bokwe Campus and St Marks Campus, as well as the King Street Site and an Administration Centre. The Further Education and Training Colleges Act 16 of 2006, provides for the regulation of further education and training college governance, funding, and the promotion of quality in further education and training.

College target market
The programmes offered are structured to accommodate learners who have been successful at Grade 9, 10, 11 and 12, school leavers, out-of-school youth, unemployed matriculants and public- and private-sector employees, who may be up to 65 years of age.

Educational offerings
The National Certificate Vocational (NCV) courses are now BCC’s core business. These courses respond more adequately to market and client needs by providing appropriate vocational training and, in addition, allow for a practical component of study to be offered in a real workplace environment or in a simulated workplace environment. Furthermore, the Department of Education offers bursaries to facilitate access for less-fortunate students to these vocational training programmes. BCC has two niche-market NCV qualifications in the fields of Mechatronics and Safety in Society. These courses are our key differentiating and flagship programmes and are being offered by a limited number of colleges in the country. The college also offers NATED programmes in Business Studies and Engineering Studies. BCC’s fundamental strategy is to deliver high-quality, affordable, accessible and market-driven vocational programmes, while focusing on being lecturer- and student-centric. The college ensures employability of its graduates and ongoing student and lecturer development programmes. A number of learnerships are offered in conjunction with the relevant SETAs and various skills programmes and short courses are available.
