American International School of Johannesburg Curriculum
AISJ uses standards and benchmarks adapted from AERO (American Education Reaches Out). Our standards are the same for all students Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 12. Our benchmarks are based on the AERO curriculum with some adjustments to suit our South African context.
AISJ regularly reviews the curriculum to ensure it best meets the needs of our students. Teachers write units based on the Understanding by Design template and our units are reviewed each year.
