African Leadership Academy seeks to develop Africa’s next generation of young leaders to transform the continent. To achieve our mission, we seek to identify youth who show the spark of initiative; who see what can be and strive to make it so. These young leaders are immersed in an intensive program of intellectual growth and hands-on leadership development. MEET AN ALA ALUM

Interested in mathematics and science? Meet Rahaf. She is passionate about applied sciences, physics and mathematics. She finished two years of high school in the first Egyptian STEM School, Maadi STEM School for Girls.

During her studies there, she had done five science projects to solve potent challenges in her community. She continued to explore her interests in the sciences at ALA. She also discovered her interests in arts and politics. Rahaf participated in the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (Intel ISEF), in Pittsburgh in 2015. Intel ISEF is the world’s largest international pre-college science competition.

She has continued to use her interests in various activities that are related to social entrepreneurship, arts and spoken word.
