About TUT Biotechnology and Food Technology
The Department of Biotechnology and Food Technology consists of two divisions, Biotechnology and Food Technology. Our vision is to be a credible research filled and vibrant department, where students are exposed to research during the three years of the undergraduate programme. Motivating lecturers, who are front-runners in their field, will lift your individuality, shape your transferable abilities and cultivate your intellectual skills.
Through state-of-the-art education systems, students are encouraged to reinforce their skill to learn and work independently and supported to put your subject understanding into practice. Our Biotechnology graduates have many career possibilities, ranging from Agriculture and wildlife, Bioscience communication, Business, Engineering disciplines and Medicine. Food Technologists on the other hand can pursue careers in food production, quality control, quality assurance, processing, development of new products and research.
