Umgungundlovu College located in the heart of the Midlands, set amidst the forested hills and the rolling countryside, serves as an entity that encompasses more than just obtaining a qualification but it serves to achieve personal fulfilment as a lifelong learner; with the emphasis on the practical skills that are required for job placement. The Central Office of Umgungundlovu College is situated at 44 Burger Street, Pietermaritzburg. Umgungundlovu College offers prospective students the choice of five campuses, each with its own distinctive character. These campuses are situated in Pietermaritzburg and surrounding areas.

Career Opportunities:
The mechanical career opportunities are vast. It is therefore important to select the correct N1 to N3 subject and trade theory for your desired career. At the N4 to N6 levels the course is not trade specific and covers general subjects necessary for careers in Mechanical Engineering. The subjects cover a variety of topics related to Mechanical design such as: Gear System, Belt Drivers, lifting Devices, Industrial Machines, Hydraulics, Fluid Flow, Engineering Materials and Structure.

All programmes are offered on a part-time basis.

Entry Requirement: Grade 12 with Maths and Physical Science.

UTVET Central Office

The Central Office is situated at 44 Burger Street, Pietermaritzburg. The Senior management team as well as portfolio manager’s office are at this campus. This campus houses the finance and procurement staff.

UTVET Msunduzi Campus

Msunduzi Campus is a business studies campus offering NCV as well as diploma programmes in business related fields. Msunduzi Campus specializes in computer literacy classes which are offered part-time. Msunduzi Campus is situated in the center of Pietermartizburg.

UTVET Edendale Campus

Edendale Campus is situated in Edendale, Pietermaritzburg, 3217. This campus specializes in the training of civil engineering students. The Campus offers NCV, Diploma and workshop courses in all civil engineering fields of study.

UTVET Northdale Campus

Northdale Campus is situated in the Northdale suburb of Pietermartizburg. The campus specializes in Electrical Engineering, offering both NCV and Workshops in this field of study. Northdale campus in home to NCV Hospitality and Finance, Economics and Accounting. This campus offers Financial Management and Business Management Diploma.

UTVET Midlands Campus (Central)

The Midlands Campus is located in the center of Pietermartizburg. The key focus is Engineering theoretical Programmes, Information Technology, PLC training and electronics. Midlands Campus is our new maths center, offering Grade 12 Mathematics and Physical Science.

UTVET Plessislaer Campus

On the Engineering side Plessislaer offers mechanical engineering programmes. These include fitting and turning; machining; fabrication; auto; tooling and electrical. NCV, Diploma and workshop courses are offered. The business studies unit offers Human Resource Diplomas as well as NCV Education and Development. The learnership unit is housed at Plessislaer Campus. The campus is located in Imbali, Pietermaritzburg.
