Anesu Hama MagadaAnesu credits his success in business intelligence to the extensive curriculum available while studying his Bachelor of Business and Commerce. The fact that it “It was not solely restricted to accounting and audit work” allowed him to sample and appreciate the vast nature of business in general.

Biance RalphSince leaving Monash with her Bachelor of Business and Commerce in 2004, Biance has travelled, found her career niche, and started her own design business. She says that it’s been her Monash degree that has helped her stay a “few steps ahead of everyone else”.



Hans HauptHaving completed all three of his degrees with Monash South Africa, he’s obviously “a fan of Monash University and proud to still be a part of the Monash family.” Hans followed up his communications and media studies honours degree with a very unique Masters of Philosophy in communication and ludology – an emerging discipline which is described by ludology.org as the ‘discipline that studies game and play activities’.

Heather BangwayoHeather oversees and co-ordinates all Monash South Africa international marketing and student recruitment activities in countries like Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Cameroon, Namibia, Mozambique and Brazil. She says “I’m the girl who came to Monash and because I just loved it so much, just never left”.

Joshua VihishimaJoshua worked and consulted for a wide range of industries and is currently working as an ICT Consultant at JV Vision Limited in Nigeria. He is also facilitating the growth of a start-up company founded by two fellow Monash alumni members.

Kingsley KipuryKingsley Kipury is the Chief Operations Officer of enke: make your mark, a youth development organisation that inspires, trains, and supports young South Africans to take action on urgent social issues.

Laila SoerLaila Soer was one of the first students to graduate from Monash South Africa in 2003 after studying a Bachelor of Arts with a Major in Environmental Science and Psychology. Laila is now working for an Environmental Consultancy Agency in Rotterdam while studying for a PhD at Wageningen University.



Marika SteenkampMarika completed her Bachelor of Arts in 2006, and honours in media studies and communication in 2007. She’s also just recently (in 2011) completed her masters in communication studies at the University of Johannesburg.

Roselle Sherriff“This was the first time that Monash South Africa had honours students, so all the students enrolled in the postgraduate programme were the guinea pigs for the year. It was challenging and exciting, but walking across the stage to receive the degree was so rewarding.”

Shayla MorarShayla graduated Monash South Africa in 2011 with an Honours degree in Computer and Information Sciences. Shayala is currently working as a Business Analyst for Signature Business Solutions (SBS), a leading South African financial consulting company that specialises in automating accounting systems for companies.

Vivek RajdevWorking for Africa’s largest paint company as an export officer has given Vivek the opportunity to travel to countries like Uganda, Tanzania, Southern Sudan and Seychelles while learning about international markets and successfully implementing what he learned at Monash.
