Private Accommodation for CUT Students

Private landlords play an important role in providing accommodation to Central University of Technology, Free State students.

Good accommodation helps good learning. We set minimum standards for our student accommodation that all good landlords will understand and meet. CUT’s Accreditation Scheme allows us to recognise good landlords in Bloemfontein and Welkom and support them by advertising their properties to our students.

To become accredited please contact us via e-mail or telephone (details below) and an assessor will visit your property to ensure that it meets the accreditation standards.

As an institution of higher education, we will always strive to provide excellence to our students in all spheres on this score accommodation is included.

Accreditation Committee

CUT’s Accreditation Scheme provides a way of giving recognition to landlords who have a responsible approach to the provision of good rental accommodation, and a means of identifying those student houses which meet the accreditation standards.

All landlords wishing to advertise properties with the CUT must be accredited/or working towards meeting the needs set by CUT’s Accreditation Committee.

The committee will inspect your property in order to ascertain whether it meets the minimum requirements.

Only accredited and registered landlords will be allowed access to students who require accommodation.

The objectives of the Accreditation Scheme are to:

  • Provide good quality private rented accommodation for CUT’s students;
  • Encourage co-operation between landlords and the University;
  • Outline clearly defined set of accommodation standards;
  • Give official recognition to those landlords whose properties achieve the agreed standards.
  • Reassure students and their parents/guardians that the rented properties provide a conducive atmosphere for studying, and that they meet the agreed standards.

Accreditation Standards

  • Management of the property standards
